FAGENT Develops an Intelligent Lighting Management System Using PIR Sensors

As part of its commitment to technological innovation, the Faculty of Engineering and New Technologies (FAGENT) at the Adventist University of Haiti (UNAH) is showcasing another student-developed project: the design of an intelligent lighting management system using PIR sensors for automatic light switching on and off.

This project uses PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor) technology to detect human presence and automate lighting control. The system helps optimize energy consumption while improving comfort and efficiency in smart environments.

Through this achievement, FAGENT students apply their knowledge in Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, electronics, and automation to create innovative solutions for modern buildings and smart infrastructures.

This project reflects UNAH’s dedication to preparing professionals capable of designing intelligent, sustainable, and future-oriented technologies.
