Adventist University of Haiti Celebrates the First Graduating Class of Engineers from FAGENT

Diquini, Sunday, August 30, 2026 — The Adventist University of Haiti (UNAH) marked a historic milestone with the graduation of the first class of engineers in computer science from the Faculty of Engineering and New Technologies (FAGENT).

As part of the ALTIORA graduating class, which includes a total of 251 graduates, eight students from FAGENT received their diplomas after four years of university training. This first cohort is composed of four Software Engineering graduates and four Systems and Network Administration graduates.

This inaugural graduating class represents a major achievement for FAGENT and reflects the Adventist University of Haiti’s commitment to developing technological skills in Haiti. Through a rigorous academic program focused on excellence, innovation, and mastery of emerging technologies, the faculty is preparing a new generation of professionals ready to play an important role in Haiti’s digital transformation.

Graduates Distinguished by Academic Excellence

The first FAGENT cohort distinguished itself through strong academic performance. Seven of the eight graduates earned Cum Laude honors, demonstrating their dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence throughout their university journey.

The eight graduates of this first cohort are:

• Cyprien Peniel, First Laureate, with Cum Laude honors;
• Petit Frère Witchmy, Second Laureate, with Cum Laude honors;
• Destil Marc Laurin, Third Laureate, with Cum Laude honors;
• Woobens Samedi, with Cum Laude honors;
• Mercredi Steevenson, with Cum Laude honors;
• Destima Adams;
• Guechenard Joseph Yebrilla, with Cum Laude honors;
• Dorelien Idna Oldonie, with Cum Laude honors.

These distinctions are a source of pride for FAGENT and for the entire university community. They reflect the quality of the students’ work as well as the faculty’s commitment to providing higher education that meets the demands of the rapidly evolving technology sector.

A First Cohort, a New Chapter for FAGENT

After four years of study, these eight new professionals are now prepared to put their knowledge and skills at the service of businesses, institutions, and organizations, both in Haiti and internationally.

Their training provides them with opportunities in several areas of information technology, including software engineering, application development, systems administration, and computer networking.

The graduation of this first cohort therefore represents a significant milestone in the history of FAGENT. It reinforces the Adventist University of Haiti’s commitment to training highly qualified professionals capable of responding to technological changes and contributing meaningfully to the country’s development.
