On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the various faculties of the Adventist University of Haiti (UNAH) continued their outreach activities in the community of Fournier (Grande-Rivière-du-Nord), combining community services with educational training programs for local residents.
In the healthcare sector, professionals from the Faculty of Nursing (FSI), the Faculty of Medicine (FBM), and the Faculty of Health Sciences (FASPA) provided free medical consultations to 65 residents, helping improve access to healthcare services.
The Faculty of Administrative and Commercial Sciences (FASACO) continued its training program on small business management. Following the first day, which welcomed six participants, four additional participants joined the workshop, bringing the total attendance to 10 participants.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FSA) conducted awareness sessions on the consequences of deforestation. Discussions focused on natural resources, Haiti's environmental challenges, the realities of rural life and agriculture, the various uses of wood, the effects of soil degradation, and sustainable solutions to preserve the environment.
The Faculty of Engineering and New Technologies (FAGENT) began its second day of training, following an opening session attended by 27 learners on the fundamentals of computer science. Participants studied the basic concepts of computing and computer hardware components. The final assessment showed an outstanding 96% success rate, reflecting the participants' strong interest and understanding of the material.
The Faculty of Education, Letters and Arts (FASELA) continued its teacher professional development program. After an initial session on August 4, which focused on classroom management with eight teachers, a second session on August 5 brought together seven teachers to explore educational psychology, led by Pastor Alcéma Abner, Director of the Michel Nord Isaac Campus. Participants highly appreciated the interactive discussions and practical teaching strategies designed to enhance classroom instruction.
Over these two days, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FGC) also conducted basic masonry training, attended by 12 participants.
Through these diverse initiatives, Impact UNAH 2026 once again demonstrates the Adventist University of Haiti's commitment to placing its expertise at the service of the Fournier community. By integrating healthcare, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, and education, the mission continues to deliver meaningful actions that strengthen local capacities, address community needs, and reflect UNAH's dedication to serving both God and the community.
