Impact UNAH 2026: A Reforestation Mission Serving the Community of Fournier

As part of Impact UNAH 2026, the Faculty of Agriculture of the Adventist University of Haiti (UNAH) continues its commitment to sustainable development through a major reforestation initiative in the community of Fournier.

121 Citrus Trees to Commemorate 121 Years of Adventist Presence in Haiti

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, missionaries involved in the initiative received 121 citrus seedlings, commemorating the 121st anniversary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haiti.

The contribution includes 10 grapefruit trees and 111 lemon and orange trees. These seedlings will be used to support the reforestation activities and contribute to long-term environmental improvement in different areas of Fournier.

This contribution marks another important step in the activities carried out by the Faculty of Agriculture as part of the Impact UNAH 2026 mission.

From Training to Action

Before beginning the planting activities, students from the Faculty of Agriculture participated in several training workshops focused on agricultural practices, environmental awareness, and the responsible management of natural resources.

Building on the knowledge gained through these sessions, the students are now moving into action by launching a reforestation campaign across several areas of the Fournier community. The initiative aims to contribute to the restoration of vegetation cover, environmental protection, and the promotion of more sustainable agricultural practices.

A Mission That Goes Beyond Training

Through Impact UNAH 2026, the mission goes beyond training and evangelism. It is also part of a broader commitment to community service, addressing practical needs and encouraging sustainable initiatives that can benefit the people of Fournier.

Through reforestation, students are putting their knowledge into practice while serving the community and contributing to a more sustainable future for Fournier.

This initiative reflects the Faculty of Agriculture’s commitment to an integrated approach to mission—one that brings together education, environmental stewardship, service, and community engagement to create lasting impact.
